The magic and wonder of Christmas was in full glory this year. Lena was at the perfect age this time around to enjoy it in so many ways. She was not only excited about Santa's visit but was also fascinated by the story of the First Christmas. She spoke of Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, and of course the Wise Men of which she was confident there were only two of. She had her own Playmobil toy nativity set which she would use to retell the story to whomever might be willing to listen. Her favorite part was "no room at the inn".
We started a few new traditions with her this year some of which we did last year but she was too young to participate or understand like making cookies for Santa, leaving a special key on the door for him to use (she was concerned that he might burn himself coming down the fireplace), reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" before bed and my personal favorite this year was attending Midnight Mass with Tony's parents. She was half asleep until the choir started and then she was hooked. A little music is all it takes to keep her attention. It was by far the most magical Christmas we've had together.
The presents of course were a hit. A few of her favorites this year were the Cinderella Castle set, a kids camera, a princess tea cart/set, and let's not forget her pink guitar which she happens to call her "rock star".
We are very blessed indeed!
