This past weekend, Tony had a convention in Orlando so we decided to tag along. Tony stayed with our friends, Robin and Jeff, so that he could drive Jeff, who hasn't been cleared to drive after his back surgery, to and from their convention. Lena and I on the other hand checked into the Caribbean Beach Resort for a little fun with Lena's grandmother, Abi. My mom drove up from Miami on Friday and we set off on our Disney Adventure. This was her first time visiting the parks with Lena. We had a blast. Lena is now tall enough to ride on pretty much everything except for a few of the big ones. On Friday we spent the morning enjoying the hotel and then after lunch and nap we went to Hollywood Studios, formerly MGM. There, we patiently waited about 50 minutes for the new Toy Story Mania ride. It was worth the wait. That was the only ride we had to wait for more than ten or fifteen minutes. We ended the night with Fantasmic, one of our favorite shows. On Saturday we were at the gates of Magic Kingdom before it even opened and in only three hours we did...Peter Pan, It's a Small World, Winnie-the-Pooh, Goofy's Barnstormer (4x's), the Haunted Mansion, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain. That was a record for me! We went back to the resort for lunch and a well deserved nap and then set off for Magic Kingdom again in the evening. Round two was Aladdin's Magic Carpet ride with Robin and Ashley, the Tea Cups, and Pirates of the Caribbean. We were all done by 9:00. Sunday morning, Tony joined us at the hotel and we set out for Epcot. We only did a few things there but the highlights were Lena's first time on Soarin and lunch at the German Restaurant with my mom. I'd post the videos of Tony and Lena doing the Polka but I think Tony might never talk to me again. Those will have to be for my laughs only! It was great fun as always to be in Disney but the very best thing about this weekend was seeing my Mom and Lena together. I absolutely adore my mother and it just melts my heart to see the way that Lena loves her too!
